Nothing makes me happier than being in close proximity to an ocean, river or lake. In a perfect world, I’d wake up to the sight of sun beams bouncing off of water and fall asleep to the sound of waves crashing against the sand. It’s interesting because as much as I love immersing myself in nautical spaces now, they’ve historically been a source of deep anxiety for me.
It’s official. Summer 2019 is here and it’s a hot girl summer! I’m kicking mine off in style with this red hot number from SHEIN, and if it looks familiar, it’s probably because you’ve already seen a sneak peek of it here.

The most important thing to know about love is that it exists and can be celebrated in many different ways. Located on Florida Ave and 14th Street, Ivy Wild is a new beauty boutique that curates non-toxic skincare and makeup products that fuse style with a bit of edge. I kicked off my visit by sharing my skincare priorities with Ivy Wild founder Rachel Mulcahy, who walked me through a bunch of different products to fit my needs.
I’m not shy when it comes to talking about my love life. It’s also no secret that I’m a social butterfly. So last week, when my co-workers asked me why I was excited to be attending a few Congressional Black Caucus events, I answered honestly; “because my husband might be there.” Just as I was patting myself on the back for garnering some laughs with my cheeky response, one of my co-workers muttered, “I’m pretty sure I swiped left on my husband already!” The room erupted with laughter, but I couldn’t help but wonder, “Did I swipe left on my husband?” Cue mini panic attack.
